Associate Network Engineer

Location: Rancho Cucamonga , CA

Job Purpose:

The Associate Network Engineer reports directly to the Professional Services Manager. The Associate Network Engineer has basic, broad knowledge in multiple aspects of network architectures and information technology. The Associate Network Engineer will assist Network Engineers with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support and optimization of all network hardware, software and communication links.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborates with the Sr. Engineers and Project Managers to assess project details, as required
  • Maintains a billable percentage of 80% per quarter
  • Assists with gathering information that may be used in scopes of work and Bills of Material as required to assist Pre-Sales (using MS Word, Project and Excel)
  • Assists with attaining problem resolution during implementation and/or troubleshooting of systems
  • Utilizes products correctly and to the degree required by the customers and manufacturer
  • Files all appropriate documentation and appropriate reports as assigned
  • Provides general support for Sr. Engineer and Management requests
  • Provides network Engineering support as required for both internal and customer facing issues
  • Possesses a basic, broad knowledge in network integration, network interoperability, network implementation, telecommunications technologies, or network protocols.
  • Associate Network Engineer is required to be in office

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Managed Services ticket work; completes assigned tickets with updates.
  • Maintains a written list of all uncompleted tasks.
  • Updates assigned managed service tickets daily.
  • Submit time billing daily.
  • Responds to all customers courteously.
  • Refers to our Code of Conduct when working on site with a customer.
  • Attends required meetings for collaboration and communication efforts.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, standards, and safety rules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and directed.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet customer deadlines (including: early morning, late nights, or overnight visits)
  • May be required to work additional hours and/or weekends, as needed, to meet deadlines or to fulfill travel obligations.

Experience/Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and job experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

General: Ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize, solve problems, and complete tasks independently or in a team-oriented environment; ability to follow verbal and written instructions, to maintain the confidentiality of data and to accept constructive criticism.

Personal: Excellent written, oral, interpersonal communication skills and customer service orientation; ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language; ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, both personally and delegated through staff.

Communication: Ability to read, analyze and interpret prints, architectural drawings and financial reports. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate deliverables to an engineering team.

Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Computer: Ability to proficiently use computer software programs and related computer applications, Outlook, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications and other industry-specific technology tools used within the organization. Willingness to learn additional software applications

Pay range 50,000 to 55,000.00
